This Position reports to:
Production Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will have the opportunity to operate process equipment and machinery to transform raw materials or semi‑finished goods into components or finished parts for an end product - at the right time and in the required quality. You will carry out your assigned tasks daily in accordance with the agreed workflows, ABB standard processes, and safety guidelines, and you will report any deviations. In addition, you will operate machines according to the operating manual, work plan, and/or production order.

Work model: Onsite

This position supports the Electrification, Installation Products division in Uster.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Performing routine machine setups, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of simple wear parts.
  • Ensuring regular standard maintenance of equipment, tool setup, programming tasks, troubleshooting, and reporting malfunctions; also maintaining detailed records of setups, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitoring and documenting good parts, scrap parts, and finished products.


Qualifications for the Role

  • Completed apprenticeship as a plastics technologist or toolmaker.
  • Several years of practical experience in injection molding, including machine setup, start‑up, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Skilled in setting up, adjusting, and optimizing injection molding machines, tools, hot‑runner systems, and process parameters.
  • Experience in sampling new injection‑molding tools, conducting initial production runs, and preparing complete production and quality documentation.
  • Solid knowledge of quality standards, safety and environmental regulations, as well as practical application of 5S and structured process control.
  • High level of organizational ability, technical problem‑solving skills, and teamwork in an injection‑molding environment.
  • Good German language skills, both written and spoken, for effective communication, documentation, and coordination in the production area.
