Maintenance Senior Engineering Specialist – Electrical
Department: Operations
Section: Maintenance
Reporting to: Maintenance Head of Methods and Engineering
Direct Reports: 2
Financial Responsibility: Approx. 5M USD

We are seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Senior Engineering Specialist – Electrical to join a major LNG producing plant. This senior leadership role is responsible for managing all Electrical Engineering Maintenance activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of critical electrical systems.
Role Purpose To lead and manage all Electrical maintenance engineering activities, ensuring technical integrity, high equipment availability, and full compliance with company and international standards within a complex LNG production environment.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and supervise the Electrical Engineering Specialist team.
  • Set annual objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and complete year-end appraisals.
  • Identify training needs and ensure effective implementation of development programs.
  • Support development of national employees to maximise team performance and succession planning.
Technical & Operational Management
  • Ensure safety of personnel, environmental protection, and integrity of all electrical systems.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure compliance with company policies and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Review and optimise preventive electrical maintenance strategies and frequencies.
  • Oversee scheduling and execution of all electrical work requests.
  • Validate and approve maintenance procedures in line with Company Maintenance Policy.
  • Ensure documentation and system backups (PLCs, control systems, electrical packages) are properly maintained and archived.
  • Guarantee quality control during maintenance execution.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and implement reliability improvements.
  • Provide expert technical support to Maintenance and Reliability teams.
  • Initiate and implement electrical modification proposals via the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Contribute to maintaining the Asset Reference Plan (ARP).
  • Maintain technological watch for the Electrical discipline in coordination with HQ.
Contract & Budget Oversight
  • Coordinate site Electrical contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Develop technical scopes of work and support contractor prequalification processes.
  • Supervise vendors delivering specialist electrical and control system services.
  • Ensure availability and optimisation of spare parts and materials, including financial justification and stock reviews.
  • Coordinate and review monthly KPI reporting (performance, cost, budget, preventive and corrective maintenance).
Technical Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment, systems integration, and maintenance methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in international electrical safety standards (ATEX, IECEx).
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, API, EN, NEMA MG1 & 2, ISO).
  • Good working knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS systems.
  • Strong IT and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Variable Speed Drives (VSD)
  • Gas Turbine Generators
  • Emergency Diesel Generator systems
  • Transformers and protection systems
  • Electrical switchboards, boards, and drawers
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 20 years’ maintenance experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in LNG producing plants (not LNG terminals).
  • Proven leadership experience within large-scale industrial facilities.
