Overview

The Horticulturist - Indoor Plants is responsible for supervising and maintaining indoor plants, healing gardens, and associated irrigation systems within AtkinsRéalis facilities in Qatar. This role includes planning and scheduling preventive maintenance, conducting daily inspections, managing and training horticulture staff, and ensuring the highest standards of plant health, safety, and compliance with QF requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong horticultural expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to implement best practices in indoor plant care and pest/disease management.

Your role

Indoor Plant & Garden Management

• Supervise and oversee indoor plant installations and healing gardens.
• Conduct daily inspections to monitor plant health, watering needs, and environmental conditions.
• Provide expert guidance on plant species selection, nutrition, care, and maintenance.
• Diagnose plant health issues and implement pest and disease management strategies.

Irrigation & Preventive Maintenance

• Monitor and maintain indoor irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Plan, schedule, and implement preventive maintenance activities for horticultural assets.
• Ensure efficient water usage and adherence to sustainability practices.

Staff Supervision & Training

• Manage, guide, and train horticulture technicians and support staff.
• Allocate daily tasks and ensure high-quality execution of horticultural activities.
• Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT) and provide ongoing safety and technical training.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all horticultural operations comply with AtkinsRéalis and QF safety and quality standards.
• Follow established safety procedures related to chemical use, pest control, and equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to CAFM/Fusion system requirements.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare technical reports, inspection summaries, and proposals for improvements.
• Maintain documentation for plant inventories, maintenance schedules, and irrigation logs.
• Assist in design and layout recommendations for indoor landscaping when required.

About you

Qualifications (Workday - Required Education & Experience)

• Degree/Certificate in Horticulture (preferred) or related fields such as Agriculture or Botany.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in indoor plant care and horticultural maintenance.
• Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
