Process Engineer:
CCL Global are looking for a Process Engineer to work for a large Saudi Operator. It would be on a permanent basis, working from their offices in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
Summary / General purpose of the role:
The Process Engineer leads the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical processes within the Wet section of operations. This role ensures that production meets quality, efficiency, safety, and environmental standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
To manage and enhance process performance in the Wet Chemistry unit, ensuring optimal yield, product quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
Job Description:
Corporate Strategy:
- Plan and implement long-term process strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Develop annual business plans for the Wet section and ensure achievement of KPIs and targets.
- Assess progress against plans and report findings, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
- Monitor process performance and identify deviations for corrective action planning.
Leadership:
- Recruit, motivate, and lead a team of technicians and shift leads.
- Assign tasks based on skills and workload priorities.
- Evaluate individual and team performance and counsel staff for development and improvement.
Organization Structure:
- Recommend optimal team structure and staffing levels for efficient operations.
- Coordinate with Human Capital to align recruitment and training needs with business growth.
Financial Accountability:
- Prepare, review, and control the Wet section budget.
- Analyse spending trends and recommend cost-saving measures or resource reallocation.
Change Management:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes using best practices.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve data collection, analysis, and automation.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
- Develop, standardize, and enforce process SOPs, control parameters, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and external regulations, including ISO and SHEQ standards.
Skills and Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Certifications: PE License, PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive experience in chemical or metallurgical processing, preferably in catalyst or metals industries
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or recycling sectors; however, exceptional candidates from other industries will also be considered.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of wet chemistry, hydrometallurgy, and catalytic processes.
- Experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
- Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, and DCS systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
