SLB is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Facilities Expert to join the Symmetry Commercialization team in Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will provide advanced technical support to customers using the Symmetry Process Software Platform across a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, refining, chemicals, and emerging energy sectors. You will work directly with customers to troubleshoot simulation cases, provide guidance on best practices, and help maximize the value of Symmetry's capabilities. In addition, you will collaborate closely with software development teams to validate and verify new and existing product features through test design, execution, and defect analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in process simulation, software technology, and customer engagement. The role provides exposure to a broad range of SLB technologies, collaboration with global teams, and continuous learning opportunities within one of the world's most diverse and innovative technology organizations.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to process engineers using the Symmetry Process Software Platform, including troubleshooting simulation models, software installations, and technical issues.
  • Understand customer objectives and recommend effective solutions by leveraging Symmetry's features and capabilities.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and software development teams, communicating user feedback, enhancement opportunities, and product improvement recommendations.
  • Develop process simulation models and representative sample cases that reflect common industry applications and operating scenarios.
  • Create, maintain, and update internal and external technical documentation.
  • Design, execute, and maintain software validation, integration, and acceptance tests for new and existing features.
  • Investigate software defects, document findings, identify discrepancies between software versions, and support resolution and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with global Symmetry, Digital, and development teams to support product quality and customer success.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to three years of experience in process engineering or process simulation.
  • Experience with process simulation software such as Symmetry, Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, UniSim, or similar platforms is considered an asset.
  • Experience with dynamic process simulation is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with VBA programming or other scripting tools is an asset.
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, process equipment, and unit operation fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively support customers and technical software users.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global, cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without sponsorship.
