Our major client is seeking for VRU Mechanic to work within their facilities located in Jal, NM on a 2-year contract (to extension).
Summary

Responsible for ensuring the proper installation, operation and maintenance of company-operated Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs) in assigned area.
Job Duties
- Responsible to ensure VRU's in assigned area are operating as designed. Checks compressor, fuel-gas tanks, water knock-out tanks, and oil coolers to ensure proper system operation.
- Monitors operation of VRU compressors to storage tanks.
- Checks for leaks; takes corrective action such as coordinating repairs.
- Monitors operation of VRU systems; receives 24-hour radio/mobile telephone notices from answering service; decides on appropriate/best response.
- As appropriate, goes to site to identify, diagnose and coordinate the repair. Notifies Foreman of emergency needs.
- Required to occasionally work in diverse weather conditions.
- Watches for unauthorized persons, vehicles, etc., on Company lease roads or property; notifies Foreman, Company security or local law enforcement, as appropriate.
- Provides for proper servicing, maintenance, and security of Company vehicle and facilities for which responsible.
- Required to correct VRU operational problems via Supervisor approval.
- Learns and follows all HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policies at all times.
- Knows and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Drives Company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads including paved and unpaved surfaces, and off road situations including two track roads; conditions include sandy roads, muddy roads, snow covered roads and other poor conditions.
- Operates and maintains all Airswift vehicles and equipment as per Airswift policies and procedures.
- Ensures proper security, maintenance, servicing and safety of Company equipment including calibration equipment and Company vehicles.
- Fills out time sheets, daily work sheets.
- Washing and housekeeping of assigned vehicle according to Airswift standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent.
- 2 years experience with VRU's preferred
- Solid working knowledge of surface separation equipment.
- Valid operator's license with clean driving record.
- Good verbal and written skills a plus.
- Basic ability with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Good math skills.
