JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Production Control Coordinator, you will be an integral member of the NOV Hydra Rig manufacturing team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning and delivering fabrications, assemblies, components, and subcontractor services on schedule and to specification.

This role demands a flexible and motivated individual who can proactively address Work Breakdown Structures and direct sales order demands.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to, tracking the timely supply of components and parts, printing drawing packs, preparing pressure test documents, coordinating department timesheets, and assisting supervisors and managers as needed.

Excellent communication and coordination skills are essential, as you will engage and develop relationships with external suppliers and intercompany Sales, Engineering, Projects, Operational Managers, Production staff, Quality Control, Assembly staff, Stores personnel, and Logistics.

Your ability to provide high-quality information and communication will enhance the delivery of goods through the supply chain, supporting the site in maximizing overall on-time delivery performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Assist in the creation and tracking of work packs, drawings, and technical documents; liaise with vendors for orders, scheduling, and delivery.
  • Project Coordination: Translate production material requirements from project documents and ensure timely completion and tracking of internal work orders.
  • Document Control: Perform document control functions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with site policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing improvements within the Production Department to optimize processes and enhance performance.
  • Communication: Identify and communicate part shortages that could impact production timelines; process workshop requests.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all statutory and regulatory safety and environmental requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with engineering and projects to meet business needs in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with Fabrication/Assembly Supervisors and Production Manager to maintain accurate build schedules and documentation.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all company policies regarding data control, health & safety, quality, and housekeeping are met.
  • Training & Development: Actively participate in training and support personal and professional development to achieve career and business goals.


Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Ability to quickly learn and integrate new skills in a challenge context.
  • Confident and professional in both written and verbal company representation.
  • Ambitious and keen to advance within the organization.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to relate effectively with both managers and operators.
  • Ability to process requests efficiently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Effective time management and flexibility in workload.


Desirable:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Track record of negotiating with supplier
  • Experience working to ISO accreditation standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Technical qualification (BTEC, HNC, City and Guilds)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Familiarity with TeamCentre or similar platforms
