Job Summary: The Lead Solar Installer will be responsible for overseeing the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role involves leading a team of installers, ensuring the quality and safety of all installations, and coordinating with project managers and clients to complete projects efficiently and on time. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solar installation, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the installation of solar PV systems on residential and commercial properties.
- Supervise and train a team of solar installers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal system placement and configuration.
- Perform roof work, including layout, racking, and mounting installations.
- Bend conduit and install electrical components.
- Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the installation process.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, including photographs, measurements, and system specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the installation process.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar installation.
- Train and mentor other installers, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in solar PV installation, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple solar PV system types, components, and installation techniques.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures.
- Experience with roof work, including layout, racking, and mounting installations.
- Ability to bend conduit and install electrical components.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- NABCEP certification is a plus.
