Job Requirements for Production Welding Engineer:
High Repair Rate Handling:
- Take the lead in handling high repair rates by implementing a structured High Repair Rate Handling Procedure.
- Coordinate with NDT Coordinator, Welding Supervisors, Welding School Coordinator, and QC Inspectors to investigate the Root Causes and develop Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Work with Welding Supervisors and Welding School Coordinator to provide training for welders and prepare accountable training reports.
- Monitor welder performance post-training to ensure improvements.
Manage Welding Assets:
- Maintain a detailed record of all welding department assets, including but not limited to:
- Welding machines
- Mechanized carriages
- Welding positioners
- Welding monitor equipment
- SAW & ESW booms
- Ensure all welding assets are functioning at their optimum levels.
- Coordinate with Stores Team and Maintenance Team to ensure the availability of welding machines, accessories, and spare parts.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Team to provide technical specifications for materials and equipment procurement.
Manage Welder Recruitment:
- Collaborate with the Welding Coordinator to create plans and define welder requirements.
- Source candidates and assess their suitability for the project.
- Prepare test coupons for welder qualification tests.
- Issue Notifications of Inspection to clients and/or third-party inspectors.
- Submit the NDE Request Form as required.
Safety Standards Commitment:
- Strong understanding and commitment to applying safety measures, ensuring all operations comply with relevant safety standards.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in welding engineering or production welding.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of Welding Standards and Best Practices:
- Familiarity with welding processes, industry standards, codes, and best practices (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO).
