About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead post-contract commercial activities within the EV infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will provide leadership on commercial matters, ensuring effective management of risk, cost, and profitability across a portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Legal, Procurement, Development, and Finance teams.
  • Manage contract and commercial aspects for the deployment of 300-500 EV hubs, each with a capital value of £1m to £3m.
  • Set up and maintain cost reporting systems (CVR/POAP).
  • Oversee EPC and sub-contract packages in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Review and comment on tender documents, bills of quantities, unit rates, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit timely monthly applications, review payment certificates, and monitor/forecast cash flow.
  • Prepare and review monthly cost reports, ensuring accurate forecasting of costs and value.
  • Track variations, ensure cost proposals are robust, and reach agreements with clients.
  • Support operations in negotiating and agreeing final accounts and providing post-completion appraisal analysis.
  • Actively participate in monthly project reviews and highlight trading risks to management.
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial field.
  • Strong knowledge of standard form contracts (NEC/JCT/FIDIC).
  • Extensive experience in financial control of projects, including cost control and dispute resolution.
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail in reviewing complex contractual arrangements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to identify contractual risks and mitigation solutions.
  • Disciplined approach to risk management and compliance with internal governance policies.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively under pressure.
