- Internally communicate with project management teams, procurement, subcontracts and finance
- Externally communicate with clients, joint venture partners, suppliers and subcontractors

Job Purpose
- Manage, direct and control the quantity surveying and contracts administration designated resources to meet set targets in terms of contract administration (projects and operations centres), section resources administration and system administration/enhancement and quality objectives as directed by department management
- Lead quantity surveying/contracts administration teams to meet set targets in terms of project profitability and achieving contractual entitlements
- Contribute significantly to section enhancement in terms of resource management, process optimization and automation, contractual change management, and deliverables standardization
- Lead and manage quantity surveying/contracts administration resources ensuring that section and company targets and goals are met
- Develop and improve section and commercial procedures at both project and corporate levels
- Develop, upgrade and enhance quantity surveying automated systems and ensure their accurate implementation
- Develop and enhance the quantity surveying function to ensure maximum recovery of revenue
- Review and recommend training requirements for quantity surveying staff to ensure they are adequately skilled
- Oversee resource allocation and workload distribution for all projects to ensure that adequate resources are available to cover work requirements
- Review tender documents, requests for quotation, bids (subcontractor and supplier), awarded purchase orders/subcontracts and advise amendments/clarifications to the relevant stakeholders and prepare strategies to avoid or minimize risks
- Provide comprehensive analysis and advice to management on contractual issues, recommending and implementing appropriate courses of action to ensure company interests are protected and profitability on contracts is optimized
- Provide guidance to projects on major issues and manage major contract variations and disputes with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, providing contractual interpretation as required
- Manage claims preparation and defence (client or subcontractor) and actively participate in claim analysis, recommendations and dispute resolution
- Review applications of contract, subcontract and purchase order conditions and price schedules with project management and project quantity surveyors and propose revisions to be in line with current practices
- Review joint venture draft agreements and provide input for improving clarity and detail, and liaise with the quantity surveying team after award for clarification of the application of the joint venture agreement
- Ensure compliance with section and company procedures and HSE standards
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, Business Management, or equivalent
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 12 years' experience in the domain of contracts administration, quantity surveying, estimation for oil and gas EPC contracts
Competencies
- Awareness and knowledge of the onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC industry
- Expertise in contractual and legal terms and standards, contracts administration, claims preparation, analysis and defence, commercial and financial analysis
- Proficient in technical and commercial reporting and contractual correspondence
- Excellent supervisory and team management skills
- Strong personality with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Computer literate with familiarity of major related software
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent managerial skills
