Diving Superintendent

We are seeking a Diving Superintendent with extensive offshore installation and diving experience to oversee and manage diving operations for a major offshore project. About the Role

As the Diving Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of diving operations onboard the Diving Support Vessel (DSV). You will lead the diving team, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with key stakeholders to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all diving activities, including vessel deployment, to ensure operations are performed safely and in compliance with technical standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Review, comment, and approve contractor-submitted procedures, dive plans, and method statements, providing input when required.
• Monitor and control diving operations, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, IMCA guidelines, and client-specific regulations.
• Coordinate with the marine team to manage the inspection of dive boats and diving spread, ensuring full compliance with international standards and regulations.
• Issue Daily Progress Reports (DPR) to the project team, highlighting activities, areas of concern, and proposed solutions.
• Ensure all diving operations are conducted from safe and suitable locations in accordance with the Air and Nitrox Dive Manual and relevant dive plans.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, risk assessments, and ensure all necessary safety documentation (JSAs, MOCs) is prepared and followed.
• Report any hazard observations, unsafe acts, and near-misses in compliance with safety protocols.
• Proactively manage safety during construction, installation, and diving activities, ensuring compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
• Work under the guidance of senior management and project teams to resolve any project-related issues, ensuring smooth and timely project execution.
• Take accountability for the efficient management of all diving activities and ensure smooth coordination between the offshore teams and project stakeholders.
• The role may require long working hours and outdoor fieldwork, with exposure to a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural work environment.

Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of experience in offshore construction, installation, and diving, with at least 8 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Qualifications such as IMCA Closed Bell Diver, IMCA Air Diving Supervisor, and IMCA Bell/Saturation Diving Supervisor (Class III) are essential.
• Additional certifications like NDT Operator level-2 are optional but preferred.
• Previous experience as a Diving Representative or in roles such as boat landing replacement, riser and J-tube installation, and subsea spool tie-in is highly beneficial.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to identify potential issues related to diving activities and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills to liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients effectively.
• Experience in managing offshore diving operations, particularly in dynamic and high-pressure environments, ensuring the safety and success of operations.
