Your role and tasks

Are you experienced within sales of digital service solutions and do you seek a key role in a highly evolving market? If so, this job is tailored to you.

You will contribute to bringing the shipping industry up to speed when it comes to use of modern, digital and value adding digital tools. Solutions that can create transparency across vessel performance. It can be via monitoring of fuel consumption, emission monitoring and vessel energy efficiency, but also fleet cybersecurity and other advanced digital services.

Your focus is to be close to our customers and to know the competitive landscape. As such, you must be able to build valuable networks and demonstrate relevant IT knowledge to customers - understand and communicate how our products add value to our customers operation.

You don't have to be an IT specialist, but you should be able to understand the generic landscape of our customers and when in the sales process collaborate with our Product Managers to differentiate ABB's technological leadership.

Our customers are primarily Danish but also Nordic shipowners and ports. The market is evolving rapidly and subsequently you must be capable of positioning ABB as the preferred supplier of advanced and integrated digital services across the market.

Further you will have a central role within our Central Europe Sales Team by supporting and sharing best practice as well having the lead of implementation of Sales initiatives of various advanced Services.

The digital agenda is a high priority for us, and our customers as mean of compliance with environmental regulations and achieve highest energy efficiency levels. Backed by ABB as an industry leading company and our extensive product portfolio, you will have a strong foundation to work from, and you will have possibilities to grow in the role.

You will be part of our local service team. However, your colleagues are to a high degree international. In ABB flexibility and cross border collaboration is a natural part of the way we work. Your area of responsibility will include:
  • Build product and market knowledge.
  • Build networks of key decision makers.
  • Book and conduct meetings for in-dept solution sales and consulting.
  • Negotiate and close deals.
  • Analyze and identify market opportunities.
  • Support sales across our general product portfolio. Digital will remain your key focus.


Qualifications for the role
  • Solid experience within sales of digital customer solutions, e.g. ERP, cybersecurity or other advanced digital or software solutions to larger organizations.
  • A good technical understanding of IT systems and cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a matrix organization to create the right solutions and offers.
  • Commercial and customer focused mind set. It's a natural part of your DNA to always hold a deal focused and value adding mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales processes with high-level stakeholders.
  • An analytical and structured work approach - in this market quality trumps speed.
  • Fluent in English written and spoken - Shipping is a global industry.
