What You Will Do
As a Reservoir Engineer, you will provide reservoir engineering support for assigned Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) projects by coordinating activities across the EOR team to ensure technical and commercial targets are achieved.
You will serve as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, delivering high-quality technical reports and presentations to diverse audiences.
Through your work, you will perform, interpret, and integrate relevant reservoir engineering analyses and draw sound technical and business conclusions.
This position is based in Latin America - Ecuador
Provide reservoir engineering support including initial screening, data collection, engineering analysis, water flood performance analysis and optimization, numerical simulation/prediction at both laboratory and field scales for CEOR projects (R&D and customer-driven)
Manage assigned projects and monitor progress to ensure technical and commercial objectives are met, while effectively interfacing with internal and external customers.
Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including RD&E, Marketing & Sales, and other reservoir engineers.
Split time between R&D initiatives, technical support activities, and customer engagement, with up to ~30% in customer-facing meetings.
Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Apply advanced data analytics techniques to support reservoir characterization, performance evaluation, and optimization.
Participate in sales meetings with customers, prepare tender responses and drive any technical requirement under your direction.
Minimum Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the assigned location.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Solid background in IOR/EOR techniques.
Prior IOR/EOR experience in an academic or industrial setting.
Strong understanding of multiphase flow through porous media, fluid property modeling (phase behavior), and routine and special core analysis.
Advanced knowledge in reservoir engineering, including (but not limited to) reservoir management, waterflood performance evaluation and optimization, well testing, and interwell tracer analysis
Demonstrated experience in reservoir simulation including model construction, history matching, calibration, and forecasting
Proficiency in reservoir simulation software such as ECLIPSE and/or CMG
Creative problem-solver with the ability to build conceptual models and implement new ideas, processes, and technologies
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including management and industry partners, to deploy advanced reservoir engineering solutions.
Self-driven with the ability to perform under minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
More than 5 years of relevant industrial experience
Demonstrated EOR-related publication and technical presentation record
Experience with advanced data analytics and digital workflows
Strong organizational and project management skills
Detail-oriented with excellent time management capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving laboratory equipment issues
Ability to work and think independently while contributing to collaborative objectives
Project leadership experience
Openness to innovation and continuous improvement
Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex technical data
