Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a new team member to join us in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

In this role, you will be a Technical Sales Support Specialist for the Large Motors and Generators' sales organization, providing technical solutions and advice on ABB products and applications especially for coal, oil and gas industry segments. Our 26-person expert team gives the last word on our technical solutions globally, supporting ABB Production Units, Sales Offices and After Sales.

As a mechanical specialist in our team, your responsibility is to review and comment on customer technical specifications and design aspects of large induction motors after electrical design, to ensure that all customer requirements are met. Your job will include making comment and deviation lists in close contact with the sales manager, occasionally creating sales drawings, mechanical studies for different parts of the motor (shafts, bearings, etc.) and choosing the right accessories and auxiliary equipment - looking at the big picture of the mechanical & technical details of the offer.

Work will be done in Helsinki Pitäjänmäki office within the hybrid model.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting the sales team by providing advice on technical solutions, products and applications
• Making mechanical studies and calculations to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency in the production phase
• Making sure customer requirements of offered machines are fulfilled
• Coordinating sales phase engineering activities
• Documenting your technical support results in an understandable and precise way in our sales support tools
• Committing to completing tasks, keeping schedules, and communicating results
• Balancing between the various requests coming from several stakeholders and keeping your tasks in logical order
• Continuously improving our processes, tools, and ways of working together with the rest of Technical Sales Support team

Qualifications for the role

• Earlier work experience in mechanical engineering, order engineering, R&D or similar
• Sound knowledge of electrical motors
• Competency in 2D design programs such as AutoCAD and PDM Teamcenter; NX, I-Deas
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Work permit in Finland
• Good command of English, Finnish is seen as an advantage
