JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV Downhole Completions is seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead growth across the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region, including Central, Southern, Eastern, and Western Africa. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships across the completions portfolio, including Liner Hangers, Lower Completions, and Advanced Completion solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning NOV's technical capabilities with customer needs, delivering value-driven solutions, and supporting sustainable revenue growth across the region. The position is based in South Africa and requires frequent travel across SSA.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across the SSA region
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and decision-makers
  • Drive revenue growth within existing accounts while expanding market share
  • Lead and support the full sales cycle from opportunity qualification, bidding, and contract negotiation
  • Collaborate with Applications, Proposals, and Ops teams to deliver technical and commercial solutions
  • Develop and execute regional sales and account plans aligned with business strategy
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasting, and CRM reporting
  • Provide market intelligence, including competitor activity and customer trends
  • Support customer engagement through technical presentations, site visits, and solution positioning
  • Ensure compliance with NOV policies, HSE standards, and regional regulatory requirements


Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Required

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in oil & gas sales, business development, or technical roles
  • Strong understanding of Completions (e.g., Liner Hangers, Lower Completions, Advanced Completions)
  • Proven track record in sales growth, opportunity conversion, and customer relationship management
  • Experience with tenders, proposals, and commercial processes
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Sub-Saharan Africa


Preferred

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Experience working in the Sub-Saharan African oil & gas market with sstablished regional customer network

Additional Information

Role requires regular travel across Sub-Saharan Africa
