This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Business Manager - Commercial and Portfolio

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct proactive business development aligned with the division's strategy in countries where business conditions require increased attention and focus. Each day, you will provide business support, including expertise in products, applications, solutions, and segment and customer (group) support for the assigned product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring profitable business growth and sustainable deployment of the division's strategic plan.

This role is contributing to the ABB Robotics in Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Track industry, technology, and customer trends; analyze competitors; identify portfolio gaps; and refine ABB Robotics' value proposition and ecosystem.
  • Co-create short- and mid-term sales growth plans with local teams and global functions, including channels, pricing strategy, and solution/value selling, while monitoring contribution margin by country.
  • Align with global and local goals, ensuring effective localization and execution of the segment strategy in your country.
  • Support ABB channels and account teams, join key discovery calls and executive briefings, and maintain application/channel plans aligned to annual targets.
  • Drive scalable, profitable growth by expanding the customer base, building a partner pipeline, and leading co-innovation initiatives.


Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's/MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics automation and/or robotics, with demonstrable impact.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multicultural teams within large organizations, with comfort driving change across regions .
  • Strong capability to translate front-end requirements into actionable steps with solid commercial acumen.
  • Execution mindset: self-driven, resilient, energetic, inclusive, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
  • Consistent achievement of quarterly bookings and margin targets.
  • Ability to maintain a healthy pipeline (3-4× coverage), balanced by stage, vertical, and partner, with win rates above 30% and faster discovery-to-PO cycle times.
  • Experience building visible partner-sourced revenue streams and driving joint pipeline growth.
