Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

This role is contributing to the ELDS - Distribution Solutions

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Collaborates with internal Sales and Marketing teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Assists with resolution of customer product/system/service issues and may accompany internal partners to customer sites
• Configure and program protection relays (IEDs) and have experience in ABB relays will be an advantage
• Update protection relay settings, logic, and firmware; manage project files and documentation.
• Configure communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3) to ensure seamless integration with SCADA systems
• Perform secondary injection testing on protection relays to verify functionality, sensitivity, and stability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
• Prepare detailed testing and commissioning reports, including "as-built" settings.
• Adhere to strict safety standards (e.g., Arc Flash hazards) and ensure safe working conditions during site testing.
• Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
• Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
• Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in protection and control systems, relay engineering, and power system applications.
• You have 5+ years of experience in protection relays engineering, commissioning, and technical support, preferably working as a Protection Engineer / Commissioning Engineer with ABB protection relays 615/620/630/640 series is an advantage.
• You possess advanced skills in configuring and programming protection relays (IEDs), updating firmware, modifying protection logic, and managing project documentation.
• You are highly adept in protection relay software and tools such as ABB PCM600, IEC 61850 configuration tools, and communication protocols including IEC 61850, Modbus, and DNP3, with strong knowledge of SCADA integration.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• You are at ease communicating in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
• You hold a valid driving license and are willing to travel to customer sites within Saudi Arabia.
