This role is open globally, with location based in Europe, including but not limited to Finland (Helsinki), Italy (Sesto San Giovanni), Germany (Mannheim), Ireland (Dublin) or Poland (Warsaw / Krakow). The work model is hybrid - #LI-Hybrid.

As a Global Account Manager you will join our Global Account Management team, responsible for serving the division's key global corporate customers. This role places you at the heart of strategic collaboration with some of the largest industrial companies worldwide.
You will be coordinating colleagues from various regions and functions to serve your assigned global accounts. You will work closely with these customers' leader-ship and technical teams and develop strong, long-term partnerships across their worldwide operations.
Success in this role requires the ability to navigate the complexity of large multinational organizations while understanding both the technical and commercial aspects of ABB's offering.

Key responsibilities

• Building a trusted, long-term partnership with the account's global organization, with particular emphasis on strengthening collaboration across Asian markets by developing a deep understanding of local business culture, decision making practices, and both short- and long-term customer needs.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for all matters related to ABB Motion Drive Products ensuring seamless coordination and culturally attuned communication with key stakeholders across Asia and Japan.
• Leading the creation, communication, and execution of the Global Account Plan, integrating regional insights from Asia to ensure strategic alignment and growth in mature and emerging Asian markets.
• Driving global sales activities and business development initiatives, with a focused approach to identifying growth opportunities, establishing partnerships, and expanding ABB's footprint across Asian industrial sectors.
• Participating actively in Global Agreements, contract discussions, and the Risk Review process, bringing experience managing negotiations in Asian markets-particularly with Japanese partners, where relationship driven and long cycle negotiations are common.
• Maintaining a strategic understanding of the customer's decision-making processes, applications, technology roadmaps, and competitive landscape, with specific awareness of market trends in Asia and Japan's advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
• Ensuring consistent, global support across all regions and especially in Asian operations, collaborating closely with local ABB teams to drive execution excellence.
• Preparing account summaries, forecasts, and reporting through SFDC (Salesforce), incorporating regional inputs and performance metrics from Asia.
• Managing commercial negotiations in line with ABB procedures and applying best practices for operating in Asian and Japanese business environments, while collaborating closely with Operations, Legal, and Finance.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of professional experience in Industrial Account Management, Technical Sales, Product Management, or a comparable commercial/technical role, ideally including experience working in Asian markets and/or with Japanese or Korean industrial customers
• Degree in Engineering or a related field; MBA is appreciated but not re-quired.
• Technical understanding of drives, motors, PLCs, or industrial automation (hands-on experience is an advantage).
• Proven expertise in developing customer value propositions and leading complex customer engagement processes in international and multicultural environments.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities with a track record of closing high-value deals, including experience navigating relationship-based negotiation styles common in Asia and Japan.
• Understanding of OEM business models and go to market strategies.
• Experience working with global industrial corporations, ideally with expo-sure to Asian or Japanese supply chains, engineering practices, or manufacturing standards.
• Fluent English. Additional proficiency in Japanese or other major Asian languages is highly valued.
• Willingness to travel 50-80 days per year, including visits to customer sites and ABB teams in Asia.
