Sales Manager, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Location: Japan, Tokyo A global leader in renewable energy solutions is expanding its presence in Japan and is looking to appoint a Sales Manager, BESS to support the growth of its energy storage business in one of the region's most strategic markets. This is a newly created role as part of ongoing investment and expansion in Japan, offering the opportunity to play a key role in building out a high-growth business unit within a globally established organisation.The Opportunity Join a well-capitalised, globally recognised energy player with a strong track record across solar and energy storage Be part of a growing Japan team (Tokyo-based) with a mix of local and international expertise Take ownership of front-end commercial activities in a market seeing strong demand for BESS solutions Work closely with regional and global teams, gaining exposure to cross-border projects and stakeholders Play a key role in shaping market entry and growth strategy for energy storage in Japan Key Responsibilities Drive business development and sales activities for BESS solutions across Japan Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, developers, EPCs, and partners Identify and develop new business opportunities in line with market trends and customer needs Lead client engagement, including presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations Collaborate with technical and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients Represent the company at industry events and strengthen brand presence in the market Requirements 2-5 years of experience in energy storage (BESS), renewables, or a closely related sector Strong understanding of BESS solutions and commercial applications Proven experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles Fluent Japanese (business level) is essential; English and/or Chinese is advantageous Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a growing and evolving environment
