Regional Sales Leader, West

Based in Riverside, CA you will be responsible for leading the West Sales team within our Power & Water Solutions business. This role provides regional sales leadership to achieve short- and long-term Emerson Automation objectives within budget limitations and company policies. You will participate in major sales efforts and provide leadership to all assigned sales personnel, while assisting in the cultivation of customers to enhance relationships that move business from vendor status to trusted advisor. This is a hybrid role. The preferred location for this position is Riverside, CA; however, other locations within the sales region may be considered, such as Colorado.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Assure all orders and margin objectives for systems and service sales are met while constantly improving relative price realization (profit)
    • Assign order booking goals within the region in accordance with available resources and sales opportunities
    • Direct regional sales force in power and water/wastewater markets and installed base assignments to ensure key accounts are identified and account coverage properly
    • Manage and direct staffing activities to insure adequate account coverage to meet PWS regional order objectives
    • Develop sales territory plans that support and implement PWS strategic plans including all growth initiatives
  • Provide regional sales leadership
    • Select and develop key employees. Provide coaching to assigned sales personnel on all aspects of the sales process and account management
    • Assure necessary factory and specialty support is optimally utilized
    • Maintain competitive awareness and keep the company appraised of significant trends or events and understand relevant market dynamics within the region and develop a sales plan to continually grow revenue
    • Work with other Emerson Automation Solution BUs and Impact Partner organizations to maximize synergistic business opportunities
    • Interface effectively with all PWS organizations to ensure effective support is obtained to achieve business results, resolve customer issues and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Implement approved administrative policies and procedures
    • Provide periodic business reports, sales projections, new products, and product modification suggestions to appropriate marketing and product managers
    • Maintain regional CRM and account databases, sales records, and product demonstration equipment
    • Provide periodic reports such as CRM, Monthly Operating Report, order forecasts, and other tasks within sales management
    • Provide direction to sales employees in the interpretation of company policies and procedures
    • Establish and administer regional business within the assigned financial budget

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer science, Technical Discipline or equivalent
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in direct sales or marketing of control systems, software solutions, and process control products
  • Proficient knowledge in engineering applications, control systems, optimization programs, and services as utilized in the power and water/wastewater markets
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $150,000-$190,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
