The position will work under occasional supervision while performing a variety of duties in partnership with Inside Sales Representative, Project Engineering, and Service team.

Essential Job Functions:
- Execute a strong sales process to include frequent in-person customer engagement, calling on prospective new customers, placing a priority on responsiveness, a sense of urgency, consistent post quotation follow up, and utilization of CRM to maintain account and opportunity activities.
- Must develop a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and power generation systems, along with an in-depth knowledge of the Caterpillar product line and competitors.
- Configuring and quoting custom emergency and prime power solutions is a cornerstone of the position. Quotations to include Caterpillar products and 3rd-party components, as well as labor and logistics components in the delivery and commissioning of the equipment. Must be able to evaluate sub-contractors and vendors quotes for accuracy and completion.
- Research plan rooms to obtain specifications and active projects that include generators, transfer switches, and paralleling switchgear for the standby power market. Develop a bidders list on each project to ensure all interested contractors receive a proposal.
- Review of site plans, electrical drawings, and project specifications to determine best product solution.
- Using Customer Solutions Quoter (CSQ) develop customer quote based on specification documents, employing value engineering methods to meet or exceed the intent of the specification.
- Must work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Shall attend trade shows, conferences, factory training, and customer events.
- Be proactive in professional development by maintaining a high degree of knowledge around product offerings, industry trends, and applicable federal/state/local code requirements.
Education and/or Experience, Skills, Traits
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, or related electrical industry experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational, time management and negotiating skills is essential.
- Must be an articulate and effective communicator, both verbal and written, to be successful working with people who are highly skilled in this industry.
- Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use CRM software.
Travel / Work Requirement
- Will work in an office environment with frequent travel to customer locations in territory
- Requires flexibility to travel beyond the territory to accomplish position responsibilities including but not limited to factory visits, packager/assembler visits, other dealer meetings, customer events, technical learning sessions, etc.
- This is a full-time position. The employee will periodically work more than 8 hours a shift and occasionally evenings and weekends. The employee must be able to travel by motor vehicle, airplane, and/or train. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license, with an acceptable driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
Compensation
- Lucrative Earning Potential: On target earnings (OTE) potential for the first year is $100,000 which includes a starting base salary of $24,000 per year, plus commission.
