Wood is looking for a National Customs Coordinator to support the team in Equatorial Guinea.
Note: this position is open to Equatorial Guinean nationals only.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure effective safety, security and controls performance that meets the global standard
  • Ensure 100% Compliance and controls for all processes and procedures including but not limited to Direct Pay, contractor invoices, EG Law, CEMAC, customs documentation, etc.
  • Provide operational oversight for daily customs clearance and/or related operational processes through effective internal and external communications, coordination, and interaction on site for both - imports and exports
  • Coordinate customs inspection activities with clearing agent and freight forwarder and perform physical inspection of goods for consistency with shipping documentation for both - imports and exports
  • Act as the representative to witness all shipment inspections and other customs clearance processes as required including but not limited to supply vessel movement, coordination or EG Customs scanning requirements, coordination between Warehouse/Logistics and Customs for approval of "Hojas de Ruta"
  • Report all OS&Ds noted during inspection to Customs Supervisor
  • Liaise with internal and external clients
  • Attend and participate in all internal and external meetings as directed including but not limited to vendor training activities, weekly team meetings, contractor coordination meetings, etc.
  • Inform the Lead of any operational issues and propose solutions when necessary
  • Maintain all trackers up to date, on a daily basis
  • Coordinate Department of Commerce import shipment requirements ensuring accuracy and controls
  • Coordinates required authorizations for both - imports and exports
  • Ensure cargo is transferred as required for both - imports and exports
  • Assist in regular reviews and updating/upgrading of all work processes and flowcharts for both - imports and exports
  • The position is required to have extensive knowledge of CEMAC Regulations, Global Trade Compliance and applicable EG Laws to ensure shipments meet all legal requirement
  • The position requires capacity to organize, produce and submit necessary documentation; reviewing shipping docs, pre-clearances and DUAs to verify that taxes and duties, if applicable, have been properly calculated and paid.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in customs, compliance and security or similar background
  • Similar experience working with imports / exports
  • Knowledge and experience in shipping documentation and inspections
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation
  • Good understanding of safety standards
