Position Information
The City of Pittsburg seeks an ACCOUNT CLERK for the Pittsburg Power Company's (Island Energy) which is located on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA.
The Account Clerk at the Power Company is a journey level class, under immediate supervision, responsible for a range of accounting responsibilities include maintaining a utility billing system, managing customer accounts, posting payments, monitoring and managing receipts of utility payments, generating final bills, certifying delinquent utility accounts, and accounting record keeping. The incumbent will also receive and respond to customer inquiries on billings and other customer related issues, and coordinate with field crew regarding activation and disconnection of meter service. Other duties include cashiering; preparing, processing, maintaining and verifying purchasing, financial, budgeting and accounting documents and records; managing office supplies; managing billing and vendors; and performing other duties as required. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm to provide in-person, phone, and email customer service to residents and businesses.

- Billing - perform monthly utility billing tasks including software inputs/outputs and checking
