Main function of the job: -

A civil design engineer is responsible for management and preparing studies, detailed
engineering, drawings, specifications and tender documents for civil projects
including office buildings, workshops, plant steel structure, etc. in oil and gas industry.
The design work must be prepared according to engineering standards, industrial
safety and quality requirements within project budget and project schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities: -

• Prepare studies, engineering, calculations, detailed design, drawings,
specifications, scope of work and tender documents for a new or renovation
buildings or industrial plant steel structure projects.
• Prepare the design calculations and structural analysis of buildings and
industrial plant structures and ensures that the structure is safe and stable for
its intended use.
• Prepare safe and economical specifications for a structure, and select
appropriate materials to ensure that a planned structure will be sufficiently
strong to carry its intended load.
• Review, comment and approve contractors design calculations, drawings and
specifications.
• Prepare projects design within financial budgets, deadlines and ensures that
the environmental impact of the project is managed.
• Regularly visiting site to monitor project progression and resolve construction
problems.
• Participate in bid evaluation, contract negotiations and award construction
contracts.
• Produce design building plans including 3D models using computer aided
design software programs and technical drawing tools such as Auto cad, 3D
Studio, Revit,.. etc.

• Direct the activities of trainee design and ensures their designs and
specifications are precise.
• Prepare technical and projects status reports and presentations to
management.

Qualification & Experience: -

• Education: - B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: - Minimum15 years working experience in civil projects design and
construction in oil and gas industry.
• familiarity with building engineering, codes, standards such as UBC, BS, ACI,
ASTM,.. etc. and as well as industrial safety standards.
• Familiarity with project management softwares such as Primavera and design
softwares such as Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio VIZ or similar.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, projects management and technical analysis skills.
• Computer skills MS office

Summary of Terms & Conditions

 Working Cycle : For American , Canadian , & western European 56/21 including
travel days, for others 65/21including Travel days .
 9 Hours a day
 6 days a week
 Payment for work days only
