Science / ResearchAbout the Company
We are the largest oil producer within the ADNOC Group, accounting for over half of ADNOC's total oil production. As the country's oldest oil production company, our operations date back to 1939, when a 75-year concession was signed to explore for oil and gas in Abu Dhabi. As a global industry leader in environmental sustainability, we are the first in the world to capture carbon from the iron and steel industry. Our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) facility at Al Reyadah has the capacity to capture 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) from Emirates Steel Industries (E
JOB PURPOSE:
Participates in geological activities in assigned fields. Accountable for acquisition and interpretation of accurate geological data and construction of conceptual geological models to ensure accurate numerical reservoir simulation, calculation of recoverable hydrocarbon in place, and optimization of field development and reservoir management programs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
• Carries out complex analysis and interpretation of geological field data using advanced modelling techniques in order to provide input for the compilation and development of well proposal. Updates high quality static reservoir models of carbonate reservoirs fully integrate with the input from Geophysics and Petrophysics and Reservoir engineering through milestone process.
• Provides regional structural geology, and restoration in a variety of tectonic episodes at basin/field/reservoir scale, including but not limited to the integration with reservoir geomechanics, sedimentology and stratigraphy studies.
• Performs geological studies evaluation, combining petrophysical data, Facies and core description, core data, borehole image logs, Well correlation, and pressure data leading to construction of 3D static geological models and ensure the studies integration.
• Designs and plans complex studies to identify new prospects, and the hydrocarbon systems, develops new play concepts, and qualified models of the subsurface. Studies include but not limited to the stratigraphic, lithofacies identification, diagenesis understanding, porosity and permeability distribution, and hydrocarbon saturation studies to characterize the reservoir.
• Responsible for integrating geological and other well/seismic data and advices on formation depth, geometries of geo-bodies, geometrical relationship, form and shape of carbonate deposit.
• Supervises and participates in geological reservoir studies aimed at constructing and/or improving geological models including 3D static models and ensure models accuracy.
• Provides discipline-specific technical advice, guidance to meet data gathering issues and required support by other disciplines team members as required.
• Ensures contractors' compliance with contract terms and schedules by monitoring progress and performance through regular activity reports and ensures the technical integrity.
• Reviews and prepares study progress reports and ensures adherence to Company and professional standards and procedures established for such studies.
• Contributes to well proposal/prognosis for new wells and updates the geological models based on well results. Analyzes and recommends solutions on any issues raised during drilling operations by integrating geological information.
• Determines the hydrocarbon volumes in place with associated uncertainty ranges in the Reserves and GIIP review whilst ensuring that all static subsurface uncertainties identified by other disciplines are properly represented and integrated.
Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
• 8 years of experience in Reservoir Geology and Geomodelling.
Professional Certifications
