Senior Geologist / Geologist

AtkinsRéalis is looking to employ a Senior Geologist / Geologist with a background and strong interest in Natural Terrain Hazard Studies and Slope Engineering Works. Candidates should be looking to undertake leadership roles and responsibilities, with a strong interest in developing innovative technologies that add value to landslide hazard assessments. Candidates should also be prepared to work in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Natural Terrain Hazard Studies (NTHS), forensic landslide assessments and slope condition survey works.
• Lead engineering geological and geomorphological site characterization works, including preparation of aerial photograph interpretation and field mapping reports.
• Develop conceptual and observational ground models for proposed developments, including the planning, supervision and appraisal of ground Investigations.
• Project management, including communication with designers, contractors, clients and project stakeholders.
• Logging of ground investigation sampling including trial pits, trial trenches and drillholes., etc.
• Proposal and appraisal of laboratory testing works for ground investigation works.
• Technical report writing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Earth Science, Geology or related disciplines.
• Chartered Geologist qualification is required for Senior Geologist role, with minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience will be considered for Geologist role.
• Solid experience in geohazard assessments in Hong Kong, including experience conducting natural landslide hazard assessments (NTHS), and man-made slope stability investigations.
• Candidates with knowledge and experience using ground modelling software programs such as Leapfrog is preferable.
• Able to work independently, supervise junior level staff and meet project deadlines.
• Keen interest in developing innovative applications to improve project efficiencies and provided added-value deliverables.
• Responsible, hardworking and self-motivated; and
• Good command of written and spoken English.
