This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. SoftBank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
Your Role and Responsibilities :
Work model: onsite
Participate in the research and development of industrial robots, with a focus on structural simulation and performance optimization, conducting quasi-static and dynamic strength analyses of structures.
Support new product development by providing FEA-based decision-making support throughout the entire cycle, from conceptual design to prototype validation.
Perform FEA-based reproduction and root cause analysis of failures occurring during product development and after-sales, providing structural problem-solving solutions.
Prepare technical documentation such as standardized FEA analysis reports, and contribute to technical knowledge accumulation and standardization.
Qualifications for the Role:
Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Aerospace, or related technical disciplines.
Proficient in finite element analysis software (e.g., Ansys) with solid knowledge of core mechanical theories: Structural Mechanics, Material Mechanics, Vibration Theory, and Elastoplastic Analysis.
Familiar with engineering material properties, and experienced in implementing static and contact nonlinear analyses, modal/transient dynamic analyses, and fatigue life assessment (S-N/E-N methods).
Strong learning ability, communication skills, and resilience under pressure.
Proficient in using computer office software and fluent in spoken English.
