This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the strategic technology direction by contributing your own ideas for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and solutions. Each day, you will assist the Research and Development (R&D) team by executing your assigned tasks and using technical knowledge in a structured way. You will also showcase your expertise by staying abreast of the state of the art and actively applying this knowledge.

The work model for the role is: R&D Electronics Associate Engineer

This role is contributing to the ABB Robotics in RD China Site. Main stakeholders are Electronics Department.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Participated in the research and development of the robot control cabinet, with a focus on the digital electronic control part.
  • Complete various technical/engineering tasks, such as the creation and maintenance of schematic diagrams, layouts and Boms, and conduct design reviews and verifications in accordance with the established QA/QC processes.
  • As a member of the R&D project, ensure consistency with the designated goals (time, cost, quality) and coordinate the project arrangement.
  • Maintain an understanding of advanced technologies, ABB products and technologies, and identify and comprehend the technological drivers of R&D projects in your field.
  • Actively participate in the work team. Share your technical/scientific knowledge in your own projects and support colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality results.


Qualifications for the role
  • Education and Experience Requirements: Fresh master's or doctoral graduates majoring in electronic Engineering, Automation or related fields.
  • Have solid technical capabilities in the field of electronics, such as analog/digital electronics, circuit theory, fundamentals of computer systems, digital signal processing, communication theory, electromagnetism, etc.
  • Have a solid understanding of the R&D process and tools.

    Be proficient in using EDA tools, such as OrCAD/Mentor Graphic/Altium Designer, etc.
  • At least have rich experience on one popular embedded platform, with ARM and FPGA preferred.
  • Candidates with experience in high-speed signal processing, such as 1000BASE Ethernet /PCIe/DDR5, will be given priority.
