This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities
1. Plan, schedule, assign work, establish priorities, control expenditures, resolve resource problems and take appropriate measures to ensure software work meets specifications and is completed on schedule.
2. Promote independent actions to improve operating efficiencies and customer relations.
3. Proactively develop and implement measures to cost effectively achieve goals and increase customer satisfaction. Requirements analysis and specification of high level software design.
4. Effectively manage team members in line with company policy and procedures, including performance, career development and conflict resolution.
Interview and hire new personnel. Assist in budget planning and costs reporting.
Train, mentor and integrate new team members, proactively support the continued development of existing team members.
5. Monitor and maintain firmware development on time performance. Collaborate with other Firmware developers, product managers and software architects to plan, design, develop, test and maintain related products. Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code.
6. Lead, engage in or review a wide range of complex technical analyses and investigations. Finalize or assist managers in finalizing and presenting proposals or recommendations. Maintain technical competency and remain current in changes in the industry as well as within ABB.
7.Lead and support integration and system testing, including automated testing systems.
8.Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Practice and enforce strict compliance with all safety rules whenever subordinates are working on energized electrical equipment and help enforce such safety standards with others who may be involved in work on such energized equipment.
Qualifications for the role
1. Master's degree is preferred and at least 8 years' experience in embedded software development or management role with good communication in both Chinese and English
2. Knowledge and product development experience of PLC, Servo Drive or other motion control related products and applications
3. Experience using SCRUM or other Agile methodologies and being related roles such as PO, scrum master and FW architect
4. Experience in full embedded software development lifecycle from specification to deployment
5. Expertise developing high quality firmware to specification while understanding FW development standards, practices, processes and requirements.
6. Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
7. Experience with source control management systems, continuous integration environments and automated testing
8. Good knowledge of configuration management and control practices
