This Position reports to:
R&D Department Lead

Your role and responsibilities

• Manage and develop Drive Products Division local R&D organization in China developing low voltage drive, servo drive and PLC product according to business needs to meet global and local market requirements
• Managing control electronics & ECAD team, participating in R&D project development from control hardware domain, collaborating with other R&D teams
• Continuously enhancing the competence of the team in developing best-in-class drive products, utilizing your own knowledge and experience, as well as the ABB local/regional and global organizations
• Collaborating closely with other functions such as product management, supply chain management, product engineering, operations, etc.
• Develop team key competences and identify competence gaps in terms of different areas in control electronics & ECAD engineering and make solid improvements with support from global team
• Take the lead in the process of product design and maintenance. Implement and follow global processes, involve local R&D organization to national and international standardization
• Support organization to find regional product customization opportunities, and visit customers

Qualifications for the role

• Master or doctor degree in Electrical /Electronic Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or other relevant field
• Strong technical background in industrial electronics product design
• Good R&D process knowledge including product creation process and project development (Gate) model
• Knowledge of electronics, mechanical and software design processes
• A complete experience in designing electronics and electrical products
• Strong background and experience on people management and leadership
• Strategic long-term thinking and ability to turn it into short term execution plan
• Leading the change towards lean & agile product development
• Good cooperation and negotiation skills when working multicultural environment
• Strong networking skills with global R&D
• Open-minded thinking
• Good English skill and interpersonal skills
