This Position reports to:
R&D Team Leader Egypt

I n this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Research and Development Team in the Electrification Business Area in Egypt.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Participating in the development of new solutions and maintenance of current portfolio
• Defining, designing, and implementing product features based on market requirements
• Project manager for development, maintenance or type testing projects
• Selecting the different system components and creating the detailed component specifications (Busbars, Cables, Switchgears, Transformers, Circuit Breakers, etc.)
• Creating electrical schematics and control drawings for the assigned project
• Creating detailed BOM on ERP
• Creating performance test procedures and type test plans
• Analyzing the different simulation and test reports
• Applying the global standards' requirements for the solution under development (IEC 62271-1, IEC 61439, IEC 62271-202, IEC 62271-212, etc.)
• Cooperating with different functions (Product Management, Marketing and Local Units' Teams)
• Aligning with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and completing project deliverables
• Demonstrating sound understanding and usages of R&D processes and tools

Qualifications for the role:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed university (minimum very good)
• You have 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility for Electrical Power Products
• You have experience in working with MV Switchgears, LV Switchgears or Transformers
• Highly adept in electrical drafting (preferably using Eplan) and electrical products selection
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in project management
• You are immersed in creating BOM and specifying the detailed description for different components
• Preferably to have knowledge in different simulations (Thermal, STC, etc.)
• You are at ease communicating in English and Arabic (verbal and written)
