This Position reports to:
R&D Technology Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Distribution Solutions division in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Responsible for productivity improvement, identifies opportunities for utilization of tools.
• Contribute new ideas and file patents, participate and contribute to national/international conferences.
• Contributing the reviews of the Test Strategy, Test automation in project lifecycle and System level testing of the applications
• Maintaining the devices and carrying out functional testing - Offline/Online parameterization, diagnostics, calibration wherever required.
• Excellent ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Understanding customer requirements, technical documentation and providing technical analyses for power system equipment failures.
• Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration and testing for projects
• Should have people networking skills and visibility at Group level

Qualifications for the role:

• BE/MTech - Electrical Engineering / Power System with solid understanding of EE fundamentals and minimum 4-7 years of experience .
• Experience with planning and execution of testing and verification of power system related algorithms mainly for Feeder, Transformer, Generator & Motor applications.
• Good knowledge of working principles of conventional Current / Voltage transformers and sensor-based technologies.
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience with IEC61850 substation automation and communication protocols.
• Good knowledge and hands on experience testing numerical relays as per ANSI/IEC/IEEE standards using signal generators, replaying and analyzing the COMTRADE files.
• Must be skilled at designing, developing, implementing test plans, test cases and verifying and validating the application algorithms for distribution automation and having strong scripting skills for test automation execution, data collection and report generation.
• Hands-on experience with client/server applications, network communications and time synchronization methods and Familiarity with test equipment, such as DC sources, Omicron, Doble, electrical measurement / instrumentation and related components (for example using National Instruments data acquisition equipment).
• Experience with design and test of harnessing to interface devices-under-test and test equipment and deploy automation in a hardware test environment. Knowledge of test automation framework and software (NI LabVIEW software).
