Your Role and Responsibilities

You will execute tests on different Medium Voltage (MV) devices using your knowledge of standard references and testing methodologies, investigating and resolving critical product issues, optimizing processes, and verifying product compliance. In this role, you will analyze and document test results for use in the development of new products.

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:
  • Performing mechanical and/or electrical tests according with the planning and priorities on MV products (Circuit Breaker, Switchgear and Switching).
  • Preparing, reviewing, managing, and updating documents (drawings, draft report and type test report).
  • Ensuring that prototypes are correctly assembled, tests are correctly performed, and activities are thoroughly reported.
  • Assisting external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB products and external customer products.
  • Collaborating with team members about test operations, processes and safety.
  • Proposing improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment.


Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Physics is preferred. Also a secondary school education will also be considered.
  • Previous experience, ideally 2 years, in Testing or Calibration Laboratories, Quality Assurance, or R&D departments is considered a plus, especially in roles focused on measurement activities and product development.
  • You have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical measurements and a familiarity with electrical diagrams, testing equipment, and automated testing machines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and a good working knowledge of English (B1)
