ABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes. The portfolio includes motors, generators and drives for a wide range of applications in all industrial sectors.

As a R&D Engineer, you will contribute to the development of System Drives software products through the design, implementation and testing of the solutions, modules, and functions.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Development of the embedded software for the System Drives products
• Development of the test and simulation framework
• Code maintenance and documentation
• Keeping project-related data up to date

Qualifications for the role

• Higher degree in the field of automatics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial C/C++ embedded software development
• Proficiency in C and C++ embedded programming
• Interest in power electronics
• Knowledge of version control systems (preferably Git)
• Good written and spoken English
• Intermediate skills in Python programming
• Basic knowledge in the field of data science and machine learning (nice to have)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
