This role will be reporting to the R&D Line Manager in business area Industrial Automation (IA) located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

You will join a team of skilled engineers to lead and develop advanced industrial control applications for the energy service industry. You will contribute meaningfully to project milestones in technology and product development through identifying challenges, proposing strategies, and putting forward practical innovations. Collaborating with teams in Norway, Sweden and Germany, the breadth of technologies and control strategies employed is broad. We are looking for someone who is technically very strong. Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the chance to initiate and lead technology, software, product, or solution development drawing on deep technical knowledge in a particular domain. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also demonstrate your technical leadership by contributing to strategic technology planning and shaping future product, software, and solution architectures.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Develop clean, well-structured HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to build responsive and functional web interfaces.
• Create user-facing features using React and other front-end frameworks, while building reusable components and libraries for scalability.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and cross-functional teams to convert design mockups into consistent, high-quality web applications.
• Optimize front-end performance across various devices and browsers while maintaining code quality using version control tools like Git.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in design discussions, documentation, and provide technical training when required while adhering to organizational values.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech with 60% or above and 1-2 years of experience in Angular/React-based projects.
• Proficient in web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL, with practical experience developing web applications.
• Well-developed knowledge of object-oriented programming, common design patterns, and RESTful API design, paired with proficient coding and analytical skills.
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, RDBMS, Time-series DB, and NoSQL, along with basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS).
• Exposure to Agile/DevOps environments, CI/CD tools, Git, and Microsoft Azure, with familiarity in modern development practices.
• Additional exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and technologies such as C#, .NET/.NET Additional exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and technologies such as C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Bootstrap, LINQ, and unit testing frameworks.
