This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Highly motivated self -driven engineers to work in electronics hardware development related to electrical distribution and control products
• Key job responsibilities include generation of product specifications, supplier visits, test equipment qualification, coordinating with plant on manufacturing activity and project documentation.
• Develop and implement hardware test plans to ensure design quality and completeness to specifications
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & project management skills required
• Clearly communicate ideas, concepts to team and create an environment that inspires constant innovation in product and processes.

Qualifications for the role :

• B. Tech/M. S/ M. Tech or equivalent in ECE/EEE from reputed institutes with 8+ years of hands-on experience developing products. The candidate should be a key hardware designer from concept through product launch for several products
• Experience in Electrical protection equipment development preferred - ATS, Trip units, Controls Electronics
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across a global team working on multiple projects, take ownership and drive results.
• Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in analog and microcontrollers. Must have developed multiple products from concept through production (has been through 3 or more big project cycle)
• The candidate must be very good at simulations (Saber / PSPICE), test strategy, reliability, components selection etc.
• Good understanding of PCB design and EMI/EMC guidelines. The candidate must have good exposure to DFM and production test equipment
• Good knowledge of agency certification requirements (like IEC/UL)
