JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform preventive maintenance on various types of HVAC equipment throughout the District to provide for the safe condition and operation of all air conditioning systems.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Special Knowledge or Skills:
EQUIPMENT USED : Volt ohm amp meter, refrigerant gauges, system test equipment, refrigerant recovery unit, oxygen acetylene torch, hand and power tools, stepladders, extension ladders, pressure washer, light truck or van. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds above head. Exposed to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel. Frequent district wide travel.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform preventive maintenance on various types of HVAC equipment throughout the District to provide for the safe condition and operation of all air conditioning systems.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Replace filters on air handlers, air compressors, exhaust fans, supply fans, and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Check fan belts and sheaves on air handlers, air compressors, exhaust fans, supply fans, and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Replace fan belts on air handlers, air compressors, exhaust fans, supply fans, and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Grease bearings on air handlers, air compressors, exhaust fans, supply fans, and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Clean coils, air handlers and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Clean drain pans and lines, air handlers and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Inspect air compressors, exhaust fans, supply fans, and other HVAC related equipment for the District.
- Diagnose system and HVAC equipment problems.
- Perform minor repairs and modifications as directed on HVAC equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and conduct preventative maintenance tasks of HVAC equipment.
- Assist with new construction and installation of HVAC systems following all applicable codes, manuals, schematics, specifications and blueprints.
- Assist in the installation of HVAC control systems in existing and new facilities following instructions, diagrams, manufactures instructions, schematics and blueprints.
- Use power and hand tools to make necessary repairs, adjustments and service procedures to HVAC systems.
- Maintain inventory of District owned tools, equipment and materials.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions in work areas and report any conditions that are uncorrectable to supervisor immediately.
- Keep shop, equipment and tools in safe operating condition.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Follow all District rules, regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with service and repair work on HVAC
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Type Universal Certification per the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Clean Air Act Section-608
Special Knowledge or Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical principles
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools
