Description
The Director of O&M manages regional teams responsible for the operations and maintenance of all PV Systems in the Novel Energy Solutions portfolio. The O&M team's main objective is to keep projects operating at peak capacity, while maintaining cost effective practices.
What you'll do:
1. Responsible for managing all O&M functions, teams, and activities to ensure effective performance and adherence to Novel Energy Solutions standards and objectives.
2. Develop and implement internal process improvements for the O&M team considering the project pipeline; work cross functionally with Accounting, Legal, Construction, Engineering, and IT to coordinate best practices.
3. Prepare routine reports for internal and external use, determining KPIs and metrics that will represent O&M business activity and performance. On a consistent basis, report to the management team all projects progress, new issues, resolutions, and budget and schedule compliance.
4. Collaborate with the Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to confirm that systems are built to specifications.
5. Read, interpret, and understand all project documentation such as EPC agreements, insurance, permitting requirements, and warranty documentation.
6. Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, washing, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities.
7. Ensure seamless handoff between active construction and O&M.
8. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving. Develop and implement internal process improvements for the O&M team; work cross functionally with other groups to implement best practices.
9. Assure compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA and/or MSHA safety standards. Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards. Instill the belief that all projects can be completed with ZERO injuries, and the safety of our employees, subs and owners is top priority.
10. Establish KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency across all sites.
11. Proactively look for opportunities to grow O&M revenue and net margins.
12. Establish policies and procedures to support O&M operations.
13. Identify, develop, and build relationships with 3rd party service providers and landowners.
14. Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field, or related field experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Solar Technical / Operations. Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• OSHA 10 Certified.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
Bonus points!
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting and financial forecasting.
• NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
• Strong understanding of NEC Code.
• OSHA 30 Certified.
