Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for hourly production team member positions in our Columbia, South Carolina manufacturing facility. As an hourly production team member, you will need to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Utility Technician is responsible for the safety, quality, cost and efficiency of his or her Team. The Maintenance Utility Technician will have an in-depth knowledge of the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance procedures, and all water and utility systems in the plant.

Job Duties

The Maintenance Utility Technician will be expected to be part of a team on his or her shift within the facility, including all equipment supporting the plant operational areas and the equipment in the Maintenance areas including Compressed Air, Natural Gas, Process Water, and Fire Systems.

• Partner with other team members to formulate objectives and achieve requirements.
• Follow effective Preventative Maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability.
• Technical expertise for equipment and maintenance process.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures and precautions.

Qualification

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Facilities Technician.
• In-depth knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge and Understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Attention to detail, Problem Solving skills.
• Strong preventive maintenance commitment.
• Must be able to effectively use a Multi Meter and effectively trouble shoot all electrical systems in the facility.
• Must be able to trouble shoot and maintain and all HVAC and Fire systems in the facility.
• Must have a great understanding of all utility systems and fire systems and monitoring.
• 2 years' experience in utilities experience.
• Proven experience with reverse osmosis and RO water systems.
• Proven experience with large, compressed air systems.
• In-depth knowledge of piping and pipe testing procedures.
• Must be able to trouble shoot and maintain all plumbing systems in the facility.
• Must be able to maintain and understand complicated pipe systems.
• Must understand large pumps and packing seals.
• Daiken chiller experience a plus.

Work Conditions:

Fast Paced Environment in a Manufacturing operation. The job will normally be in a 24-hour 7 day a week facility with normal business hours, however this position could have overtime, and call ins.

Area is not climate controlled, and subject to extreme temperatures especially around the melting area. Other areas have numerous chemical tanks and require respirator use in batch area. Other areas the floors are very wet and require care when walking and working around.

Work Conditions:

Require physical inspection of all areas of the operations several times a day, requirement to be on the floor approximately 90% of the time. Must be able to walk entire operations, climb stairs and vertical ladders to access the manufacturing areas.
