RESPONSIBILITIES

Wood is looking to hire an Electrical Coach on 6/1 work cycle, to be based in Basra, Iraq, secondment roles for one of our operating clients.

• The Electrical Maintenance Coach will play a key role in supporting and embedding application of the client Procedures. Responsibilities will include providing support to existing work force in the coaching and development of local Operations and Project staff involved with the maintenance and operation of facilities across the asset.
• The Electrical Maintenance Coach will be managed on a day-to-day basis by the Competence Assurance Lead but will also work closely with the client deputy Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

• Coaching, mentoring and advisory support of staff to strengthen their understanding of application of electrical maintenance procedures and support them in establishing good practice on-site.
• Support understanding and implementation of Electrical Isolations, inc. High Voltage switching and operations across the asset
• Deliver core skill electrical training courses on site using the local academy facilities.
• Provide advice on good practice on work planning, HITRA development ensuring all hazards and control are identified and tasks completed safely, and on time.
• Conduct regular reviews of electrical maintenance activities and provide any recommendations to the Competence Assurance Lead
• Identifying any areas for improvement and capturing lessons learned
• Carry out assessments for electrical maintenance technicians.
• Shares best practice and drives consistency across the field in the application of front-line electrical maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas/ Chemical processing industry.
• Minimum 5 years as an electrical coach in an Oil & Gas/ Chemical processing environment.
• Excellent written skills in both Arabic and English.
• Proven capability in training, coaching and mentoring.
• Good IT skills and abilities (Word, Power Point & Excel).

Essential Experience:

• Extensive experience in operational Oil & Gas/ Chemical/ processing plants.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Maintenance activities in Oil & Gas Operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of the principles of energy isolation.
• Comprehensive understanding of risk assessment principles and their practical application on-site.
• Extensive experience in coaching and mentoring, preferably in a multi-national, oil & gas environment.
• Experience in preparing and delivering Electrical Training Sessions.
• Good interpersonal skills and behaviours (Safety, Respect, Courage, Excellence, One Team).
• Experience in conducting and assessing of Electrical Technicians.
• Effective influencing, communication and engagement skills across a diverse functional organisation.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
