Wood is recruiting for an Electrical Designer to join its Oil, Gas & New Energies (OGNE) business in Canada. This opportunity is hybrid, based in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.

This role is responsible for providing design and technical support for the layout, design, and specification of electrical systems for industrial plants and related infrastructure. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure compatibility of design and technical accuracy in project deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Electrical Engineer
- Provide design and technical support for the layout, design, and specification of electrical systems for industrial plants and related infrastructure
- Design and draft equipment and auxiliary components in 2D and 3D drawing environments
- Prepare As-built drawings
- Review project documents for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy
- Establish good working relationships and communication with area leads, department managers, clients, and other team members to coordinate and ensure compatibility of design

Expected:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Design Technology or similar
- 5 years of relevant design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart Plant Electrical, and/or knowledge of 3D software
