Are you ready to take on the role of Electrical and Instrumentation Site Supervisor for a major oil and gas client in Papua New Guinea? As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing technical support for E&I construction, installation, and commissioning activities. Join us and be a part of our mission to deliver safe and efficient operations for our client's brownfield projects.
Role Overview
- Supervise and coordinate E&I construction, installation, and commissioning activities for brownfield projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage and oversee contractors, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and within schedule and budget.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, providing solutions to maintain project progress.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials, and site activities for reporting purposes.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks, function testing, and troubleshooting.
- Work with Operations Teams to integrate Honeywell control systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in brownfield projects within the oil & gas, energy, or resources sector.
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS electrical and instrumentation standards and PNG regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience supervising E&I works, including installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with Honeywell control systems (Experion DCS, Safety Manager, C300 controllers, or related platforms).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and site safety requirements.
- Expertise in Honeywell control systems (DCS, PLCs, and SCADA).
- Strong understanding of loop tuning, control strategies, and automation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and ATEX standards.
- Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting techniques.
Education & Experience
- Essential qualifications required for this position are:
- Trade or tertiary qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Electrical License and/or Instrumentation Certification.
- Current White Card, First Aid, and CPR certification (preferred).
