What's the role

As an Instrument and Electrical Technician, you will provide instrument and electrical technical support to construction, plant facilities and field operations. You will repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on control systems and other equipment. Additionally, you will inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain process control systems such as PLCs or DCS and other similar equipment.

Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential duties for this position are listed below:
  • Install, diagnose, and maintain instrument and electrical equipment components with all job duties and responsibilities executed in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnership's procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Install, diagnose, and maintain pneumatic and intelligent instruments, electrical distribution systems, motor control gear, and associated equipment software
  • Install, diagnose, and maintain PLC's or DCS systems & process or safety controls
  • Read and interpret manuals, policy, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID's
  • Participate in call out/on call requirements
  • Actively participate in partnership safety programs and initiatives
  • Perform specialized technical skills (i.e. develop complex design projects, cost estimates, evaluates electrical systems, build and maintain ESD systems, maintain gas turbine or skid unit control systems)
  • Provide work direction, oversight, and inspect other work provided by third party contractors
  • Provide mentoring and oversight to less qualified employees
  • Provide accurate written and electronic reporting
  • Comply with partnership safety policies and procedures
  • Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)

What we need from you
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • You must have 5 years' experience in Industrial Maintenance setting
  • NFPA 70E Certification
  • Electrical and Instrument NCCR certification or Electrical/ Instrument degree is preferred
  • Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and SAP

Working Conditions and Requirements:

This is an I&E Tech position working a 4-10 schedule. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The rate for this position is $49.71. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
