Salary - £39,443.02 to £42,756.19 per annum (dependent upon skills and experience) plus standby allowance £290 per week, when on rota, and appropriate overtime rate when attending the call, 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years' service plus bank holidays.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) - typical attendance will be 08:00 until 16:00 Monday to Friday however, flexibility is essential.
The successful applicant will be required to join an out of hours callout rota 1 in 4 weeks minimum covering a wider area.
The Residential Technician will be based at a critical site, overseeing technical diagnosis, solutions, and leadership. Responsible for ensuring seamless operations and service excellence, the role involves conducting routine maintenance checks, identifying faults, and maintaining M&E equipment. Additionally, the technician will build strong relationships with key customers on-site while supporting the development of fellow engineers and managing subcontractor coordination to uphold operational standards.

- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical challenges with precision.
- Drive efficiency by ensuring all KPIs are consistently met and exceeded.
- Lead engineers and subcontractors on-site, fostering teamwork and delivering outstanding technical results.
- Keep electrical and M&E equipment in top condition, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Oversee subcontractor operations, ensuring smooth workflows and compliance.
- Work closely with RMPFS support functions to optimise site operations.
- Maintain strong relationships, liaising with client representatives to ensure expectations are fully met.
- Verify and complete all required documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
- Apply technical knowledge to make informed decisions that balance quality, cost, and time.
- Assist in the growth of onsite engineers, mentoring and supporting their professional advancement.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to engineers and subcontractors, enhancing overall performance.
About You
- The role holder must have 18th edition
- Planned maintenance experience of electrical systems alongside one other core skill including Gas, HVAC or mechanical maintenance
- Experience of working in pressurised situations, with the ability to handle pressure and prioritise work
- Maintenance experience within electrical systems e.g. BEM's, Multi and Group Control lifts
- Experience in fault finding and diagnosis with the ability to provide advice and guidance to others across all systems where required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues.
- The ability to analyse and understand complex technical issues in relation to electrical systems
- Experience of assisting with training, coaching or development of engineers
- Must have a flexible approach to work carrying out call out and stand by activities as required
- A full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
