Wood is recruiting for a LC Superintendent (Civil Maintenance) (Local National) to join its Iraq business unit focusing on supporting and supervising task delegation to team for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 5 days on / 2 days off rotation.
This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Contributing to delivery of Engineering excellence through:
- Executing assigned scopes of work.
- Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
- Providing discipline support to the business.
- Coaching and mentoring as delegated.
- Supervision of Graduate Engineers. Provides input to the performance management of direct reports.
- Manage and supervise direct reports.
- Deputizing for principal as required.
- Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.
- Executing assigned personal objectives.
- Management of third-party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery.
- Carry out survey and answer site queries.
- Review and check the work of design team.
- Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of CTR's and man-hour estimates.
- Attend meetings as and when required.
- Assist procurement and project engineering personnel in the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Demonstrate understanding of and work to discipline specific procedures.
- Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
- Provide discipline support to the business.
- Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports.
- Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- BSc / BEng with extensive relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Membership of a recognized professional institute is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industries
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Proficient in design of steel structures and foundation
- Capable of providing safety oversight for logistics construction sites
- Engineering Degree, with a least 5 years Brownfield Projects experience (Lump Sum or Unit Rate, Unit Rate is preferred)
- Capable of reviewing detailed engineering deliverables
- Good understanding of Quality Management System, capable of review Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and performing the inspections
- Experience in EPC and PMC jobs
- Experience as package engineering for fabrication of structural steel
- Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context.
- Familiar with the use of industry standards and codes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good Oral and Communication skills.
- Must have good interpersonal skills/team player.
- Able to demonstrate team working skills.
- Flexible with a can-do attitude
