Job SummaryAlaska Overview
The Alaska segment primarily explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas and NGLs. We are the largest crude oil producer in Alaska and have major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk and Western North Slope asset areas. Additionally, we are one of Alaska's largest owners of state, federal and fee exploration leases, with approximately one million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2024. Alaska operations contributed 14 percent of our consolidated liquids production and two percent of our consolidated natural gas production.
Position Overview
The ConocoPhillips Alaska Director of Maintenance is responsible for leading all aircraft maintenance operations, ensuring full compliance with FAR Parts 125 and 91, as well as company policies and procedures. This role is critical to maintaining the airworthiness, safety, and reliability of the Alaska-based fleet. The Director of Maintenance provides strategic and operational leadership, develops the maintenance team, collaborates across departments, and serves as the primary liaison with the FAA on all maintenance-related matters.
This position is accountable for implementing short-term strategic, operational, and financial plans that impact the enterprise. The Director of Maintenance sets and achieves departmental performance metrics, oversees resource planning, and ensures alignment with organizational goals.

Your responsibilities may include:
- Ensuring compliance with FAR Part 125 & Part 91 regulations and serving as the primary liaison with the FAA
- Developing and implementing the vision, strategies and objectives for the aircraft maintenance department, aligned with the overall goals of ConocoPhillips Global Aviation and the ConocoPhillips-Alaska business unit
- Conducting regular safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and certifying aircraft return to service
- Perform monthly site visits to all Alaska Aviation bases to oversee/audit maintenance operations
- Leading and supervising all aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification activities
- Develop and review maintenance manuals, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
- Maintain aircraft maintenance and personnel schedules
- Leading and developing personnel within the maintenance department, including training, performance, and evaluation
- Provide Management with an annual maintenance plan and budget for all aircraft, including updates as required
- Review, recommend and negotiate as necessary all contracts associated with maintenance on company aircraft, engines and components
- Coordinate and communicate with the organization regarding aircraft availability and maintenance activities
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate
- 5 or more years of experience in aircraft maintenance
- 3 or more years (within the past 6 years) of experience maintaining large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats of the same category and class as the certificate holder uses
- 3 or more years of people management experience
- 3 or more years of FAR 121 operational experience
- Advanced level of knowledge of FAR regulations
- Intermediate level of knowledge of FAR 145 Repair Station processes and procedures
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 25% of the time on a yearly basis
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to support a 24/7 operational environment, requiring availability for all shifts across all hours
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or related field or foreign equivalent
- 3 or more years project management experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with maintenance management software
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safety
- Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
- Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
- Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
