The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aviation as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aviation, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Job Description
The Maintenance Coordinator will act as the main communication focal point for the shop and the maintenance team regarding equipment maintenance status and repairs. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle the dynamic nature of maintenance coordination and ensure smooth communication and workflow within the team.

This position requires a proactive individual who can handle the dynamic nature of maintenance coordination and ensure smooth communication and workflow within the team.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Active Military Personnel during the last 180 days of Military Service
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for acting as the primary communication liaison between the shop and the maintenance team regarding equipment maintenance status and repairs.
- Must be able to utilize Microsoft Excel and Maximo to track the condition and status of open equipment maintenance work orders.
- Responsible for communicating with maintenance team members throughout the shift to maintain an accurate count of open work orders, learn status updates on machine repairs or preventive maintenance efforts and escalate any issues encountered.
- Must be able to carry and respond to the Maintenance Coordinator cell phone throughout the duration of the shift to field questions and address escalations regarding equipment maintenance repairs as they arise.
- Responsible for responding to any incoming work orders and triaging them based on the priority and urgency of the associated machine. Must be able to assist in the delegation of these work orders throughout the shift if there are available maintenance technicians.
- Must be able to attend a daily transition meeting 30 minutes prior to the end of the shift to provide equipment maintenance repair updates and help facilitate the turnover process between shifts.
- Must be willing to participate as an active working team member for any Maintenance Coordinator specific assignments if time permits throughout the shift.
- Must actively participate in a team-based environment which includes, but not limited to the following: active participation in daily team meetings and activities, cooperates and relates well with others, practices direct professional communication with team members, and is open to new ideas from team members and considers opinions different from their own.
