Job Title: Electrical Technician - Sewage Water Treatment Plant
Department: Maintenance / Operations
Reporting to: Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Qatar
Job Purpose:

To perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all electrical systems, equipment, and control systems in the Sewage Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical panels, MCCs, VFDs, motors, pumps, and control circuits.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment within the plant.
• Diagnose and repair faults in power and control systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Monitor and maintain lighting, distribution boards, and earthing systems across the facility.
• Support calibration and maintenance of instruments, sensors, and automation components where applicable.
• Ensure all electrical works are carried out safely, adhering to safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, checklists, and reports of all electrical activities.
• Coordinate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for cross-functional maintenance activities.
• Support the electrical engineer in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in sewage treatment, wastewater, or water utility plants.
• Technical Skills:
  
  
  • Knowledge of LV systems, MCC panels, and control circuits.
  • Familiar with PLCs, SCADA systems (basic understanding preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with motor rewinding, cabling, and terminations.
• Certifications: Electrical License / HSE Training certificates (preferred).
