Technicians / ServiceThe R&M Technician III is a highly skilled role responsible for leading the inspection, repair, and maintenance of Weatherford's field tools and equipment with minimal supervision. Leveraging extensive experience and advanced techniques, the R&M Technician III independently manages complex repairs, troubleshooting issues that go beyond routine tasks. This role not only involves performing hands-on repairs and refurbishments but also ensuring that processes and procedures are followed according to technical manuals and safety standards. As a senior team member, the R&M Technician III also mentors less experienced technicians.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Assemble/disassemble product line tools as per procedure or Technical Work Instruction in accordance with Quality standards
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with the tools
• Implement mandatory modifications and/or preventive and corrective maintenance of the tools/assets
• Conduct testing of tools/assets to ensure integrity of assemblies
• Monitor, record, source and re-order day to day spares and consumables associated with the running of the plant
• Prioritize workload according to the planned production schedule
• Open crates and sort and place materials on racks/shelves/in bins as required
• Prepare tools for shipment and convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage/other designated area by hand, forklift, or other means as required and in accordance with operator training
• Record operational hours on tools/assets in Work Order system
• Monitor and source spares and consumable levels to keep the plant operational and cost effective
• Maintain a consistent level of production quality by adhering to manufacturing procedures and work instructions developing corrective action that may reduce ineffective and inefficient operation
• Liaise with the production/shop supervisors and leads, engineering, and other support functions as required, communicating maintenance issues and requirements
• Independently maintain equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Successfully complete training plan and competency standards as set out in the position within company guidelines
• Actively participate in all daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), providing insights and contributing to safety discussions
• Understand and follow maintenance and repair procedures/documentation for applicable products and equipment and complete all relevant documentation
• Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors, demonstrating initiative in managing more complex assignments and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard
• Mentor and guide less experienced technicians, providing on-the-job training and feedback to support their development and enhance team performance
• Required to be available for any approved overtime outside of normal work schedule
• Required to be available on call for any urgent needs
• Where required, will report all equipment failures and troubleshooting requirements to the R&M Management
Experience & Education
REQUIRED
• 4-6+ years related experience in manufacturing/repair and maintenance environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED
• 2+ years experience in related product line (MPD or BOP preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
REQUIRED
• Basic computer skills
• Basic operational knowledge of crane, forklift and materials handling equipment
• Ability to follow established procedures for equipment repair and maintenance, with growing independence in handling more complex tasks.
• Basic Mathematics: Understanding basic mathematical concepts for measurements and equipment maintenance.
• Equipment Handling and Troubleshooting: Independently performs intermediate-level maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment with minimal supervision.
• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Applies critical thinking to independently solve intermediate problems.
• Advanced Reading and Writing Skills: Confidently reads and interprets technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation. Creates detailed and accurate maintenance reports and work orders, ensuring compliance with company documentation standards.
• Physical Capability and Dexterity: Continues to meet the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and operating advanced tools and machinery. Demonstrates proficiency in the safe handling of equipment and leads by example in ensuring proper ergonomics and safety.
• Problem Identification and Resolution: Proactively identifies potential issues during maintenance and repair tasks, taking immediate action where possible and escalating more complex issues to supervisors with proposed solutions.
• Tool Mastery and Assembly: Has a solid understanding of how tools and equipment should be assembled, repaired, or modified. Independently performs assembly tasks
• Teamwork and Leadership in Communication: Demonstrates strong communication skills, effectively interacting with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills
PREFERRED
• Knowledge of workshop tools utilized by the facility
• IPC certification
Travel Requirement:
This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: <10%
